THE HALL OF FAME: CANADIAN BOXING

THE OLD CANADIAN BOXING HALL OF FAME
-by Brian Zelley
Introduction:
The original Canadian boxing hall of fame operated
for many years until 1998.  For the last 14 years,
the hall has remained dormant with no activity.
There is no one site or establishment where one
can go to view the names of the many inductees
that number close to 325.

There are now plans to revive the hall with a
fresh new look. Beyond the actual organization
and process there is a need to recognize the current
inductees from the beginning until 1998.
This blog will attempt to profile the 300 plus inductees and tell
their stories.  And, when the new revised hall of fame is ready
for the public, there will be a starting point and profiles of each
and every former inductee into the Hall of Fame

THE PAST:
The original hall of fame operated for years with the induction
of many, but after 1998, the symbolic walls came crashing down.
There are so many names of great boxers, coaches, trainers,
officials and other builders that have been recognized, but we
need to compile the names of all of the alumni of this
Canadian Boxing Hall of Fame and tell their story.

THE FUTURE:
It is the hope of many that the vision of a few will be turned into a
reality for the recognition of our greatest, and the enjoyment of many.

NEWS ON THE RUN:
*A fan page for former boxer  NICKY FURLANO has included
some good discussion about the potential revision of our
Canadian Boxing Hall of Fame.
