This re-visiting of Canadian boxing is
not expected to be complete history, just
a few bits and
a few bits and
professional boxing.
This is an attempt to re-visit Canadian boxing history
from different decades.
It also includes some of the
hall or wall of fame
moments with the names and faces of some.

Much has been discussed over the various years so this start will
start to revisit the history.

* the above list looks at amateur boxing in Canada
from 2000 to 2013 with a list of names of folks that
have been involved in any area of the sport from the trainer to the story teller.
the list has over 240 names including boxing clubs,
and some of the names include:
Alison Arsenault, Andrew Kooner, Custio Clayton,
Paul P-mac MacKenzie, Samir El Mais, Kenny Lally,
Mickey Sims, and many more.

* the attached link goes from the here and now
and opens the door widely for all Canadian
boxing - past and present, amateur and pro.

The above list to-date has 350 plus names with more to be added that range from amateur boxers and coaches of the past, to some active Canadian professional boxers of
the here and now in 2013.
The list of 350 includes names on an alphabetic
method without any reranking. However, for the
time being the first name listed is the late coach
and training director for Boxing Canada -
*** the late Matt Mizerski *** his name
includes a tribute video prepared by one of
Canada's outstanding National team members
of the Nineties: Domenic Filane Figliomeni.
There are many one time amateurs that
became professional with some great results
from the early days of George Dixon, Sam Langford,
to the west coast action of Jimmy McLarnin and
Billy Townsend, to current Boxing Canada team
members such as Alex Rynn, Justin Hocko,
Kenny Lally to 2012 Olympic boxers Simon Kean ,
Mary Spencer and Custio Clayton.

Golden Gloves:
* No history of boxing is complete without
some reference to a golden gloves tournament
and the most important one for boxers in the
Pacific Northwest was the annual Seattle
Golden Gloves/PNW AAU Championships:

Billy Taylor, Brian Zelley, Derick Austin,
Dave Wylie, Dick Findlay, Earl Mcleay and
John Amos (better known for his tv and movie
roles).

the news report. AAU boxing rep. Dave Brown
made the announcement of the change which saw
Dave Allerdice dropped due to an injury and the
addition of Fred Fuller due to the request by
Seattle officials.
